CAREER OBJECTIVE

 To obtain a challenging research position in the area of Molecular Genetics and agricultural biotechnology at a reputed organization.

 

 

 Education:

- Ph.D. (2000–2005) in (Plant Signal transduction), Thesis entitled (Manipulation of Genetic information in studying plant performance) Dissertation Research Including 13 post-graduate courses. In addition to one year Course in (German language) and (Three Special studies papers) and two years full of experimental work at Mcgill University, Montréal, QC, CANADA.

- M.Sc. in (Molecular Genetics) (1997-2000). Thesis entitled: (Genetic transformation in developmental pathway of tomatoes) including 12 post-graduate courses in Genetics and Molecular Genetics. In addition, a Course in (English language), a Course in (preparation and writing scientific research) and two special studies papers. 

- B.Sc. in (Genetics and Agricultural Genetic engineering) (1992-1996). Final grad is Excellent with honor degree from Faculty of agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt.

 

   Professional Experience:-

- (2009-2010) Fullbright Scholar (Biotechnology Program) (100 % research),, Genomics Laboratory, USDA, Beltsville, Meryland, USA .

- (March 2007 to September 2007) Visiting researcher, Genomics lab, Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki, Finland.

- (2005 to present) Lecturer (50% teaching + 50% research) at Genetic Department, Agricultural Genetic engineering branch, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt.

-  (2002-2004) Visiting Scholar (100 % research), McGill University, Department of biology, Molecular biology lab, Montréal, CANADA, through a scholarship from Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt to complete PhD program on Plant Molecular Genetics.

-  (2000- 2005) Assistant Lecturer (25% teaching + 75% research) at Genetic Department, Agricultural Genetic engineering branch, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt.

 - (2008-2010) Selected as a principal investigator deputy in the project entitled (Utilization of Biotechnology and molecular breeding in the development of stress resistant tomato). Support of Academic Research in Zagazig University project.

- (2005- present) Selected as a principal investigator to receive a BA/CSSP (The Center for Special Studies and Programs) postdoctoral research grant , No. (050176), for the year 2005 from library of Alexandria to conduct the research titled "Molecular mechanisms of heat-tolerance in tomatoes and production of heat-tolerant tomatoes by transformation" over a period of 24 months.

- (2002-2004) Member Discovery Grant project A2724 from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada NSERC.

- (2008-Present) Official representative of the international Moroccan society of Bioinformatics ( SMBI)

- (2000- present) Designed and established the first (Molecular Genetics) lab at the department of Genetics, faculty of agriculture, Zagazig University.

- (2001) Attended non-credit, non-graded course entitled (Preparing University Teachers) which aims to prepare university teachers be ideal members to teach and do research, at the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University.
